You don't have to memorize any of this
Every console starts at its full listed price — priced as if it's in perfect shape with no defects. When you add yours to the cart, just tick whatever isn't perfect: each defect you tick adjusts the price automatically, itemized right on the item's card, and your offer updates the moment you tick it. No math, no surprises.
We prefer consoles that work
We run a full repair bench in-house, but slots are limited — we can't take on large volumes to fix. So we buy consoles that power on and work. Listed defects are what we deduct for; anything Won't buy we can't accept.
Defect not listed on the item card? Contact us first
This page is a quick overview — the full defect list for your exact item is on its card when you add it to the cart. If your game or console has an issue that isn't listed there, message us before you ship and we'll tell you whether we can take it — a defect not being listed doesn't mean we'll accept it.
Games
Three conditions — pick the one that matches yours when you add it to the cart.
Cartridges
- Full Clean shell & contacts, label in good condition: light wear on the plastic is fine.
- −25% Marker / writing on the shell (plastic only).
- −50% Sticker or writing on the label; peeling label; moderate/severe yellowing; heavy cleaning to boot.
- Won't buyLabel missing, ripped or faded; cracked shell; won't play; reproduction (how to spot one).
- FullCardboard boxes (NES · SNES · N64 · Game Boy · GBC · GBA): the Boxed price needs the original cardboard box in good condition — solid corners, no crushing, tears, or water damage. Light shelf wear is fine; original inserts a plus.
- LooseWorn, damaged, or reproduction cardboard box — crushed or split corners, tears, heavy creasing, water damage, or writing — is paid at the Loose price, not Boxed. We pay a premium for these boxes, so condition has to be there.
- FullSega plastic cases (Genesis · Master System · Game Gear · 32X): the Boxed price needs the original plastic case with no damage inside or outside, and clips that aren’t broken.
- LooseAny damage to the Sega case, inside or outside, or a broken clip, is paid at the Loose price, not Boxed.
Disc games
- No ded.CD & DVD games (PS1 · PS2 · GameCube · Wii · Xbox · 360 · Dreamcast): repairable light-to-moderate underside scratching — we resurface in-house.
- No ded.Blu-ray games (PS3 · PS4 · PS5 · Xbox One · Series X · Wii U): light scratches are fine if the game plays — no deduction.
- −50% Sticker or marker on the top (label) side.
- Won't buyHeavily scratched or gouged Blu-ray games (PS3 · PS4 · PS5 · Xbox One · Series X · Wii U) — any scratch you can feel with a fingernail. Blu-ray can’t be resurfaced, so we can’t buy those.
- Won't buyDeep gouges you can feel with a fingernail, pits, cracks, chips, foil-layer separation; top-side scratches; non-NTSC; repros (how to spot one).
- FullBoxed = original case + cover art. Cracked / stickered case costs nothing; we replace cases.
- LooseCover art that is reprinted, or has wrinkles, punctures, front or rear damage, stains or water marks — pull it out and check both sides — is paid at the Loose price, not Boxed. Cases we replace; the original art we can’t.
- Won't buyAn empty game box: a case or box with no disc or cartridge inside.
- Won't buyAn item with required parts missing: something that is not complete enough to use or resell.
Consoles
Every console starts at its listed price. Tick anything not perfect in the cart and your offer updates live — listed defects are what we deduct for.
This is a quick reference, not the full checklist. These cards show the issues we see most — not every possible defect. In your cart, each thing you tick is itemized with its exact deduction, and if your console has something that isn't listed here, add a note or message us and we'll factor it in by hand before you ship.

Accessories
Controllers, Joy-Cons, remotes, nunchuks, memory cards, headsets, adapters, docks and more. Search the item by name for a live cash offer.
Every accessory is judged on its own. A controller, a dock and a memory card fail in completely different ways, so there is no single checklist that covers them all. The card for your exact item lists only the faults that actually matter for that item: sticks that drift, a frayed cable, corroded contacts, a cracked rail, a battery that no longer holds a charge, or a part that should be in the box and is not. Cleaning: Light dust and light wear are fine, we clean everything. Items that need heavy cleaning take one 50% cleaning deduction, and so does a dirty or sticky battery compartment. On a few types, such as headsets and microphones, heavy dirt on the item itself means we can’t buy it; the item’s card says which. Corrosion in a battery compartment means we can’t buy the item. Please do not send items that cannot be cleaned (permanent stains, marker, dye): we can’t buy them.
The card does the math while you tick
Every accessory starts at its full listed price, priced as if it is in perfect shape. Tick whatever is not perfect and each fault is itemized with its exact deduction right there on the card, and your offer updates the moment you tick it. The number on the card is the number we work from, so nothing changes on you at the end.
⚠️ Something wrong that is not on the card? Ask first
Each card covers what we see most often for that item, not every possible fault. If yours has a problem that is not listed there, message us before you ship it. A fault not being listed does not mean we can take it.
📡 Wireless instruments need their receiver
We can’t buy wireless guitars, drums, keyboards, turntables and other wireless controllers that need a separate wireless receiver (USB dongle) and arrive without it. The receiver must be the one that matches the item; a receiver for a different model or console doesn’t count. When you add one of these items, its card asks you to confirm the receiver is included.
What we DON'T deduct for
- Light scratches, dust and light, cleanable grime
- Missing handheld device chargers, stylus, cables, straps
- Replacement cases & missing manuals (discs)
- Missing battery/port covers, rubber feet (games and consoles; on accessories the item's card says)
- A console that isn't factory-reset
- Light, even shell yellowing on retro systems
🔋 One deduction to know about: cartridges with a save battery (marked on the game's listing): if the battery is dead we solder in a new one and deduct the charge shown for that game (Terms 7.1).
Everything must arrive odor-free (smoke and other strong smells can't be removed) and free of bugs or droppings. NTSC (US) region only. Every item is inspected by hand and every deduction is itemized — take the adjusted offer or have it sent back.
