How we grade a PSP UMD

A UMD is a small disc sealed inside a plastic shell, so the disc itself is protected and the shell takes the wear. There is nothing to polish here: a UMD either loads and plays or it does not, and we test every one. The shell has to be whole and the label in good condition. Are PSP games worth anything?

Yes, and more every year, because the PSP store closed and a UMD is the only way left to own most of its library. The RPGs from Atlus, Falcom and Square Enix, the Konami horror games and the licensed titles lead the way; the sports annuals are worth a few dollars each. The table above shows the PSP games we are paying the most for today.

How much can I sell PSP games for?

Exactly what this page shows before you ship. Search a title and you get three offers, loose, boxed and new, with the date they were shown. The offer you accept at checkout is locked for 14 days while you ship, and it is what you are paid once the UMD matches the condition you picked.

Do you buy PSP games without the case?

Yes. A loose UMD is our Loose condition with its own price. The case with its cover art moves it to Boxed, and the manual makes no difference.

What if a PSP UMD will not load?

A UMD that loads and plays in a clean shell pays the full offer. A sticker or marker on the label side takes half. A cracked shell or a UMD that will not load is paid at $0 or returned to you at your cost, so test each one before you ship.

Where can I sell my PSP for cash?

Here, with the games. Every model has its own card, from a $44 base payout; a battery that no longer holds a charge or a scratched screen is a deduction, while a UMD drive that will not load, a drifting analog nub, dead pixels, a cracked screen, dead buttons, a bad speaker (crackles, too quiet or no sound) or a swollen battery means we cannot buy that unit. The PSP Go takes downloads only, so it comes without UMDs. Because a PSP has a lithium battery, the whole order ships by ground on a UPS label with the battery kit, handed to a staffed counter rather than a drop box.

Should I sell PSP games online or trade them in?

Few counters take a UMD any more, and those that do pay store credit at a walk-in customer's price. We pay cash after inspection and sell online, so our offers are usually higher, especially on the RPGs, and you see the offer before you ship. Here is a side-by-side.

Do you buy Japanese import PSP games?

No. The PSP plays UMDs from any region, but we buy North American releases only, so please leave imports out of your order.
