How we grade a PS1 disc
PlayStation discs are ordinary CDs with a black tint on the data side, and thirty years of handling shows: most come to us with a scuffed underside, and most leave our resurfacing machine playing like new. The printed side is the one we cannot repair. A jewel case with cracks or stickers costs nothing because we replace cases; reprinted cover art pays the Loose price because the original art is what we cannot replace. We check every copy of this game for authenticity when it arrives. A reproduction pays $0, and return postage is yours if you want it back.
Quick check — how’s the box?
Genesis, Master System, Game Gear and 32X games came in plastic cases. Any damage to the case, inside or outside, or a broken clip, is paid at the Loose price.
Boxes are re-checked at inspection. A worn box on a Boxed-price item is adjusted to the Loose price.

Pull the paper cover art out of the case and look at the front and the back.
If it has any of these issues, you must sell it as Loose.
The plastic case doesn’t matter — we replace cases. Only the paper art has to be in good condition. Art is re-checked at inspection; art with any of these issues is paid the Loose price.
