How we grade a Genesis cartridge
Genesis games came in plastic clamshell cases rather than cardboard boxes, which is why so many survive complete, and a complete case with its cover art moves a game to the Boxed price, as long as the case is undamaged inside and out and its clips are intact. A few of the RPGs and the Sonic sequels save to a battery inside the cartridge; where a listing marks one, a dead battery is not a refusal: we solder in a new one and deduct the charge shown on that game. Every cartridge rule is written out on the Condition Guidelines page.

Genesis consoles and accessories
We buy working Sega Genesis consoles, the Model 2, the Model 3, the Genesis Mini and the Flashback HD, from a $25 base payout with one Sega controller. Also on the list: three-button and six-button controllers, arcade sticks, the Game Genie, the Power Base Converter, the Team Player adapter and the Mega Mouse. Each card carries a short checklist, and the offer on it is what you get when the item matches.

Quick checks for this game
These aren’t the only signs of a fake. Before you add it, read our guide: How to spot a fake game (opens in new tab)
We check every copy of this game for authenticity when it arrives. A reproduction pays $0, and return postage is yours if you want it back.
Quick check — how’s the box?
Genesis, Master System, Game Gear and 32X games came in plastic cases. Any damage to the case, inside or outside, or a broken clip, is paid at the Loose price.
Boxes are re-checked at inspection. A worn box on a Boxed-price item is adjusted to the Loose price.
Quick check — the cover art
Pull the paper cover art out of the case and look at the front and the back.
If it has any of these issues, you must sell it as Loose.
The plastic case doesn’t matter — we replace cases. Only the paper art has to be in good condition. Art is re-checked at inspection; art with any of these issues is paid the Loose price.
